Traci Hummer


Traci Hummer has served as the assistant principal of Shawnee since 2019. She leads many endeavors including the MTSS process, special education services, student discipline and attendance, and district administration of testing and assessments. Traci loves working with students and staff to create optimal environments for the teaching and learning of the whole child, including academics, behavior, and social-emotional efforts!

Danielle Beneteau

Innovation Specialist

Danielle Beneteau is the Innovation Specialist at Shawnee Early Childhood School.  
She has been part of Lakota’s Early Childhood staff for more than a dozen years and joined Shawnee in 2020. She supports teachers with curriculum, technology integration, project based learning, and best educational practices. She also helps plan lessons and activities in the Innovation Hub, alongside the Innovation Hub Aide and classroom teachers.

Katherine Collier

Instructional Aide

Before becoming the office secretary, Katie was a paraprofessional at Shawnee focusing on The Kindergarten Literacy Lab. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Cincinnati, and has worked with children from preschool to middle school age in several school and camp settings throughout the years.

She also has over a decade of secretarial experience within the veterinary field, where she worked as a receptionist and a vet tech. In addition, Katie was a membership specialist at the East Butler County YMCA for 4 years before coming to Shawnee. Katie has twins, Emma and Eli, who are in first grade at Shawnee, and a daughter, Olivia, who is in sixth grade. Katie's passion is helping students and families feel welcomed and loved within the Shawnee Community.

Tanisha Dixon

Tanisha Dixon


Tanisha Dixon is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and certified Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant in the state of Ohio. She received her Master’s in Community Counseling from Xavier University and her Bachelors of Social Work from Northern Kentucky University. Tanisha has over a decade of experience treating ADHD, adjustment disorders, anger management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, PTSD, social/emotional skills, and substance use and trauma. She can work with clients of all ages, but her primary area of expertise is children and adolescents. Tanisha is trained in areas of crisis de-escalation, suicide prevention and trauma informed care. She has worked as a community and school based therapist in Hamilton, Fairfield, and Princeton school districts.  Tanisha has experience providing individual, group and family counseling to clients of various racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. She works with a variety of modalities, including but not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, person-centered therapy, trauma focused, mindfulness techniques, motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy.

Gary Gabbard


Officer Gary Gabbard splits his time between Shawnee ECS and Adena Elementary. Officer Gabbard’s primary duties are the safety and security of the Lakota students and staff. He also acts as a support resource for Lakota staff and builds positive relationships with the students in his assigned schools. He also investigates any criminal acts related to the schools and the students while they are attending school.

Jenny Helterbridle

Office Manager

Jenny Helterbridle is the Office Manager at Shawnee Early Childhood School. Jenny has been serving the Shawnee community since 2007. She handles many items including, but not limited to, office operations management, transportation, ordering and finance, as well as Facility usage. She absolutely loves her position and working with Shawnee families.

Sharon Iles

Registered Nurse

The school nurse at Shawnee ECS is Sharon Iles. She started in the building in 2012. Sharon has 26 years of nursing experience. Sharon provides health services in the school by treating injuries and illnesses and managing health issues. Sharon can be reached by email at or 779-3014, ext. 19515.

Brittany Larkin


Brittany Larkin has been the school counselor at Shawnee Early Childhood School since 2021. As a school counselor, Brittany provides individual and small-group counseling, classroom collaboration, and consultation with parents to assist in connecting families to resources and educational information. For Brittany, the most rewarding part of being a school counselor is that she gets to listen and build connections. Brittany has the gift of helping little voices feel heard, loud and clear. Because of this, those little voices grow bigger and more confident. Brittany ensures that all voices are heard, no matter how small!
