Traci Hummer
Principal
Traci Hummer has served as the principal of Shawnee ECS since 2022. She loves working with students and staff to create optimal learning environments that focus on the whole child! She believes that all students deserve to build the foundational skills necessary to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally and that Shawnee is the best place to start that journey. She is a Lakota parent and her husband is a Lakota teacher. They love this community and all that the wonderful opportunities it has provided for her family. Traci hopes that she can help to give that same experience to the students and families here at Shawnee ECS.
Kirsten Cannon
Assistant Principal
Kirsten Cannon joined the Shawnee team in 2022 as the assistant principal after serving in the same role at Cherokee Elementary one year prior to that. Before coming to Lakota, she taught kindergarten, first and third grades in Cincinnati Public Schools.
Kirsten has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Reading Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Mount St. Joseph University. She is currently a doctoral student at the University of Cincinnati, studying Urban Educational Leadership.
Kirsten enjoys visiting classrooms and spending time learning alongside students. She also enjoys collaborating with teachers to make data-based instructional decisions. In her free time, Kirsten enjoys traveling and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats.
Elizabeth Brown
Innovation Specialist
Libby Brown is the innovation specialist at Shawnee Early Childhood School.
She has been part of Lakota’s early childhood staff since 2014. She supports teachers with curriculum, technology integration, project-based learning and best educational practices. She also helps plan lessons and activities in the Innovation Hub, alongside the innovation hub aide and classroom teachers.
Katherine Collier
Office Secretary
Before becoming the office secretary, Katie was a paraprofessional at Shawnee focusing on The Kindergarten Literacy Lab. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Cincinnati, and has worked with children from preschool to middle school age in several school and camp settings throughout the years.
She also has over a decade of secretarial experience within the veterinary field, where she worked as a receptionist and a vet tech. In addition, Katie was a membership specialist at the East Butler County YMCA for 4 years before coming to Shawnee. Katie has twins, Emma and Eli, who are in first grade at Shawnee, and a daughter, Olivia, who is in sixth grade. Katie's passion is helping students and families feel welcomed and loved within the Shawnee Community.

Jenny Helterbridle
Office Manager
Jenny Helterbridle is the Office Manager at Shawnee Early Childhood School. Jenny has been serving the Shawnee community since 2007. She handles many items including, but not limited to, office operations management, transportation, ordering and finance, as well as Facility usage. She absolutely loves her position and working with Shawnee families.
Sharon Iles
Nurse
The school nurse at Shawnee ECS is Sharon Iles. She started in the building in 2012. Sharon has 26 years of nursing experience.
